In the fiercely competitive world of interactive entertainment, it's common for emerging rivals to fade away as swiftly as they explode onto the scene.

Yet Battlefield 6 is aiming to alter that.

It's the newest release in a long-running warfare game line frequently described as a grittier answer to its main competitor.

The title has never quite succeeded to rival its top competitor in aspects of sales or user base, but indicators suggest the latest version could narrow the difference.

A preview event allowing gamers a shot to experience the release in recent months broke records, and the hype leading up to its release has been huge.

However the undertaking is still a big venture for company Electronic Arts, which has reportedly allocated huge sums of money developing it.

Reporters have spoken to a number of the developers to discover how they hope it will pay off.

Development Team and Studio Collaboration

Four development houses have been working on the title under the collaborative banner.

They include veteran developer the original team, headquartered in Scandinavia, Los Angeles-based Motive team and the Canadian studio in Canada.

The fourth, the Guildford team, is located in the UK.

Learning From Earlier Mistakes

The game follows the back of the futuristic the last installment, published four years ago to a negative response it found it hard to overcome.

"It's likely that we would find it impossible to create and produce this new game absent the lessons we gained in Battlefield 2042," the manager shares with our team.

Among those insights was to get fans involved from the start, and the developers launched exclusive player trials earlier this year.

Their "reaction was explosively encouraging," comments she.

Another omitted element from the previous installment was a story mode, which has been reintroduced in this version.

The Guildford team design director the design director is the person responsible for "ensuring those missions are as fun and engaging as possible for the audience."

Regardless of reports that the scale of the project had created pressure for the different studios collaborating globally to create the game, the director is optimistic about the work.

"Partnering with different backgrounds, different experiences, it's a very engaging atmosphere to be part of daily," he says.

"This whole approach has been a fresh take but also very exciting because we are collaborating with people from internationally."

Concerning the anticipation on the team, the director says: "We feel demand but at the same time it's thrilling.

"It's a major venture. It's probably the most significant that the majority of the team have before been involved in."

Emerging Developer Adds Fresh Perspective

This is definitely accurate of no less than an individual team member, visual designer Vlad Kokhan.

The 21-year-old creates the atmospheric effects that influence the tone, style, and focus of the solo experience.

Vlad finished an work placement at Criterion before getting a position there, and currently works on a part-time basis while completing his VFX studies at his school.

He explains he's a long-time fan of the games, and remembers playing the fourth instalment of the series at a friend's house when he was younger.

Being on it currently, as his debut industry job, "seems unreal actual."

"It's truly crazy observing the promotion everywhere," he comments.

"To know that I have contributed my personal touch into the game is very unbelievable."
