'The most terrible ever': Donald Trump rails against Time's 'extremely poor' cover picture.

It is a positive feature in a periodical that Donald Trump has long exalted – except for one issue. The magazine's cover photo, he stated, "may be the Worst of All Time".

Time's praise to Donald Trump's part in brokering a Gaza ceasefire, featured on its November 10 cover, was presented alongside a image of Trump captured from underneath and with the sun positioned behind him.

The outcome, he says, is "super bad".

"Time wrote a fairly positive story about me, but the image may be the Worst of All Time", the president posted on Truth Social.

“They removed my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a hovering tiara, but an extremely small one. Truly strange! I always disliked taking pictures from below viewpoints, but this is a extremely poor picture, and should be criticized. What is their intention, and why?”

Trump has made clear his wish to appear on the cover of Time and accomplished it multiple times in the past year. This fixation has extended to his golf courses – in 2017, the magazine asked him to remove mocked up covers on display at a few of his establishments.

The latest edition’s photo was captured by Graeme Sloane for a news agency at the White House on the fifth of October.

The shot's viewpoint did no favours for Trump’s chin and neck – a chance that the governor of California Newsom took advantage of, with the governor's office sharing an altered image with the criticized section blurred.

{The Israeli captives detained in Gaza have been released under the initial stage of the president's diplomatic initiative, together with a Palestinian prisoner release. The arrangement might turn into a major success of Trump's second term, and it may represent a pivotal moment for the Middle East.

Simultaneously, a defence of Trump's image has been offered by a surprising origin: the director of information at Russia’s ministry of foreign affairs stepped in to condemn the "damaging" photo selection.

"It’s astonishing: a photograph exposes those who selected it than about the subject. Only disturbed individuals, people driven by hatred and resentment –maybe even degenerates – could have selected such an image", Maria Zakharova shared on the messaging platform.

In light of the positive pictures of Biden that that magazine featured on the front, despite his physical infirmity, the case is self-damaging for the magazine", she added.

The explanation for the president's inquiries – what were Time’s editors doing, and why? – might involve artistically representing a impression of strength stated by an imaging expert, Guardian Australia’s picture editor.

"The actual photo itself is professionally taken," she notes. "They selected this photo because they wanted trump to look commanding. Gazing upward creates an impression of their grandeur and his expression actually looks reflective and almost somewhat divine. It's rare you see photos of Trump in such a peaceful state – the picture feels tender."

The president's hair seems to vanish because the light from behind has washed out that area of the image, creating a halo effect, she explains. And, while the feature's heading marries well with his facial expression in the image, "it's impossible to satisfy the subject matter."

Few people appreciate being photographed from below, and even if all of the conceptual elements of the image are very strong, the appearance are not complimentary."

The Guardian contacted the magazine for comment.
